Methylsulfonylmethane

Methylsulfonylmethane(MSM) which is a naturally occurring constituent of the various forms of organic sulfur, found in many foods, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat and fish, is part of one of the fundamental biological cycles of our planet that, starting from the oceans where, several hundred million years ago, algae and plankton began to release it along with high homologous components in gaseous form, releasing them into the atmosphere. Even today these constituents captured by plants through rain will go on to form part of the backbone of animal and plant biology.
In our bodies for example, sulfur is the fourth most present mineral, where it underlies support functions in general, keeping cells more permeable, promoting toxin elimination, supporting joint function, and promoting better health for nails and hair. Because of the characteristics mentioned and more, we can say that the discovery of the role of biological sulfur in health can be considered among the greatest advances in orthomolecular medicine in the last fifty years. Since the systemic concentration of MSM declines with increasing age, probably due to change in diet or body metabolism it is clear that its supplementation is to be considered positively.
